Today's Basset is a cute reminder of the power of the pack.
It was much harder to decorate this basset they I anticipated.
Feathers are not very flexible. :-)
This Basset originally began as a therapy for me.
Some sad changes going on in my personal life
(good in the long run but in the short term )
But as often happens when we are feeling sorry for our situation
we are humbled by the hardship of others.
I finished the teardrops on this basset watching the coverage
of the terrible tragedy in Moore, OK.
It truly put my sad feelings in perspective.
My thoughts and prayers are focused on the families
and friends impacted by such a terrible disaster.
A priceless picture of all the bassets.
They sit so patiently waiting for Dad to come home.
As soon as they hear his vehicle coming they start whining
and shaking uncontrollably. You'd think they loved him or something.
This seemed like a great craft when I first saw the craft.
After I printed everything out, lo and behold I found
out that all the instructions were in Japanese.
This turned out really cute but was quite a difficult task.
Today's Basset is brought to us courtesy of the US Mint.
He just begs you to offer him a penny for what is on his mind.
If you look closely I used different colored (more tarnished)
pennies for his ears to give them more definition.
I look on at my friend Yvonne's daily Zentangles
and think I should be able to do that.
Well here is a borderline awful attempt.
However, I committed to posting my creations.
Clearly not everything is a masterpiece.

While listening to my crazy boys running around outside
this morning, I was inspired to create this one.
This cutout basset was saved from the rubbish pile.
What does it mean that I am now using future trash for inspiration?

My first venture into Watercolor Pencils.
Still not completely sure how to use the pencils completely.
However, I really like the way they spread when the water was added.
This idea came to me when I was looking for a band-aid
in my medicine cabinet. Ok, honestly I used Naproxen for
the pretty blue eyes. Shaking things up with another shape
for me to do some outline crafts.
My boy Hoover is pretty camera elusive.
For some reason he shys away from picture time.
That made this all the more special.
I had to snap this shot where he is laying his head
on my knees not so subtly begging to get on my lap.
